Selective racking wins when you need every pallet accessible and have many SKUs; push back and drive-in make sense when you have deep lanes of the same SKU and want density; pallet flow suits high-throughput FIFO operations. How much additional storage capacity can a redesign realistically add?

Most Phoenix area warehouses we look at are leaving 20-40% of their cubic capacity unused, usually from beam elevations set by habit rather than by load profile, or aisles wider than the forklift actually requires. Re-pitching beam levels to your real pallet heights and matching aisle width to your lift class often adds pallet positions without touching the building. We model it in CAD first so you can see the position count before committing.

How is installation handled, and how disruptive is it?

Installation is coordinated through vetted local crews who anchor and plumb every frame, install decking, then label and capacity-tag each bay. Most projects can be phased, run off-hours or scheduled over a weekend so your operation keeps running. We sequence zones so you can start putting product away while the rest of the building comes together.

Can racking be relocated if we move or expand into another building?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pallet racking is a bolted structural system, so it can be dismantled, transported and re-erected. We handle tear-down and re-set and re-draw the layout for the new floor plate, since column spacing, clear height and sprinkler locations rarely match between buildings.

Question 6

What should we check on our racking between projects?

Accepted Answer

Walk the aisles for bent or gouged uprights, missing safety clips, loose or shifted anchors, and beams with visible deflection under load. Damage at the first three feet of an upright is the most common and the most serious. Send photos and we will tell you whether it needs repair, replacement or immediate unloading, whether or not we installed the system.
