Pallet Flow Rack in Phoenix, AZ
Grocery and food and beverage distributors in the West Valley live by date codes. A pallet that gets buried behind newer stock becomes a write-off. Pallet flow keeps rotation honest: load from the back, pick from the front, oldest product first every time.
This flow racking system uses gently pitched roller lanes with brakes. Gravity carries each pallet to the pick face, so replenishment and picking happen in separate aisles and drivers stop crossing paths.
Built Around Cold Storage on the I-10 Corridor
Tolleson, Avondale and the stretch of Buckeye Road and 107th Ave are home to cooler and freezer buildings serving grocers across the Southwest. Refrigerated space is expensive per cubic foot, so a dense FIFO system often earns its place there first.
Cold storage changes the plan. Rollers, brakes and pallet condition all behave differently at low temperatures, and installers need a schedule built around working in the cold.
What We Ask Before Drawing Lanes
Flow through racking is sensitive to pallets. We need the pallet type, board direction, loaded weight range and whether loads are stretch-wrapped or overhanging.

Fitting Positions Into Your Clear Height
Each flow level loses some height to lane pitch, so a 40-foot clear building in Goodyear or Buckeye may carry one less level than the same selective layout. We count positions for both options so the comparison is fair.
Two aisles are needed, one for loading and one for picking. In return, the space between them is solid storage.
Shipping and Install in the Heat
Flow lanes ship as rails, frames and beams, so we confirm lane counts, pallet weights and delivery access in Tolleson, Avondale or Goodyear before ordering. Our team handles the permit side for you.
Dry-warehouse installs in July are scheduled for early mornings with hydration planned. Freezer installs follow the cold storage operator's rules for time in the room.
Expanding a Flow System
Adding lanes or SKUs later is common. We match lane depth, pitch and roller type to what is already running so new and old lanes behave the same.
